GIGANTOCHLOA Giant, tropical, clumping bamboos similar to Bambusa. G. atroviolacea, G. atter, G. robusta, and G. pseudoarundinacea were formerly all considered to be forms of G. verticillata. Rarely flower or come true from seed, and may be "natural hybrids."
